About Medaka PI/ERC Indigene Meeting 2025
Medaka has emerged as a highly versatile model organism, providing unique opportunities to address research questions spanning developmental biology, gene-environment interactions, neuroscience, disease modeling, and drug discovery. With the availability of diverse wild-derived and inbred strains, its exceptional accessibility to genetic modifications and advanced imaging techniques medaka facilitates innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the genetic and environmental drivers of biological diversity. We are excited to invite principal investigators working with medaka as well as all contributors of the ERC-IndiGene Project, to join this collaborative meeting. This meeting provides an outstanding opportunity for the expanding medaka research community to connect, exchange ideas, and cultivate collaborations, paving the way for groundbreaking discoveries in the field.
This meeting is open to all Principal Investigators with a passion for medaka research, as well as members of the ERC-funded IndiGene project, which explores sources of phenotypic variation using the medaka model system as part of the ‘Genetics of Individuality’ initiative.
Postdocs planning to lead their own research groups in the near future are also encouraged to apply.
